Help:Editing card pages

Help page

In order to show information in a consistent and well formatted manner, we have created a standardized layout. The purpose of this editing guide is to help you get familiar with our layout. Certain templates store information in the database; this information is in turn used by other pages, so it is of utmost importance that this information is correct.

Examples of pages:

Page content[edit source]

Card pages should always contain the following content:

  • Card ID
  • Card name[content 1]
  • Character the card is associated with
  • Attribute
  • Rarity
  • Unit the card is associated with
  • Support the card is associated with (if applicable)
  • Status
  • Release date
  • Methods of acquisition
  • Associated event (if applicable)
  • Debut gacha (if applicable)
  1. Card name information should include the card name in English, if in English already (see bloomy idol ♪). Otherwise, use a translated English name. It is preferable to use translations by @pjsekai_eng over any other group. When the card name is in Japanese, which it often is, there should also be the card name in Japanese as well as the romanized form of that card name.

Pages should also conclude with navboxes displaying pages related to the card, such as the event the card is associated with and the character that the card is associated with.

Page layout[edit source]

A typical card page looks like this:

This layout requires the use of many templates, which are found within the card templates category.

Tabs[edit source]

Tabs are used to link up the main card page with its side stories (if the card has one).

Templates used in this section:

Infobox[edit source]

The infobox is a table located in the top right corner of every card page. This purpose of this table is to contain a lot of useful information and should be easily readable. The information within this infobox should be: the thumbnail of the card, the names of the card (in Japanese, Romaji, and English whenever applicable), the card id, the character associated with that card, the attribute of the card, the rarity of the card, the unit associated with that card. Acquisition information should also be present, and includes: the status (permanent, limited, birthday limited, etc.), the release date, the acquisition methods, the event the card is associated with, and the gacha that the card debuted on.

The card id, rarity, associated character, associated support unit (for cards associated with VIRTUAL SINGER characters), attribute, release date, and event id (if the card is related to an event) parameters are required. All of the values above are found within the game data, with the exception of event id.

Templates used in this section:

Introduction[edit source]

The introduction should give a brief description of the card (the names, who the card is associated with, the rarity, and the attribute) as well as provide information about how players can acquire this card. Below is an example from The Grand Opening:

The Grand Opening (みんなにお披露目, Minna ni Ohirome) is Hatsune Miku's 8th card. It is a 4☆ cute card that was released in the Release Celebration Gacha. Players can also acquire this card by exchanging for it in the Member Exchange Shop with 30 gacha seal exchange tickets.

Skill[edit source]

This section should provide information about what type of skill this card has, as well as the skill name in Japanese, Romaji, and English (when applicable). There should be two subsections, one titled "Skill name" for the skill names, and the other "Skill effect" for the description of what the skill does. The "Skill effect" section uses the {{Card skill}} template. It will automatically show the correct skill effect for every skill level when given the card rarity and the skill type. If the infobox is properly set, then only the skill type needs to be set.

Templates used in this section:

Stats[edit source]

This section contains the stats for the cards. There should be two subsections, "Main stats" and "Additional stats", with the {{Card stats}} and {{Card additional stats}}, respectively.

Templates used in this section:

Costume[edit source]

The costume section only applies to 4☆ cards with a costume. This section should contain a link to the related costume, as well as the thumbnail found in the Costume Shop. Additionally, this section should include a short description about the accessories (common and unique) or unique hair (if there is one). Below is an example of a description:

This card comes with the costume Hopping Frills. It has a matching accessory and a unique accessory for MORE MORE JUMP! Miku. It has 4 variants, three of which are unlocked when this card reaches Master Ranks 1, 3, and 5.

Gallery[edit source]

The gallery section should only show the card art and cutouts. Cards that can be trained (3☆ and 4☆ cards) should also show the trained art and cutouts.

Use in events[edit source]

This section contains lists of when this card is useful in events. For all cards, this section should contain events where the card contributed +50% to the event bonus. For 4☆ cards released after September 1, 2021, this section should also contain events where the card contributed +70% to the event bonus. The {{Card events}} template generates the list automatically when given a certain bonus (50% or 70%) when the infobox in this page is properly set.

Templates used in this section:

Update history[edit source]

The update history section should include the days of when the "state" of the card was changed. For example, every card has an entry for when it was added to the game. For certain cards, such as Event Shop cards, they also contain an entry for when they get added to the Member Exchange Shop and to the gacha pool.

Trivia[edit source]

Sometimes, but rarely, cards may have related trivia. This should go here.

External links[edit source]

This section should include external links about this card. Most of the time, it will only be a tweet by @pj_sekai with a card announcement.

Navigation[edit source]

This navigation section should contain navboxes that link to related pages. For most pages, it would be the event navbox for the event this card is related to, as well as the character cards navbox for the character this card is associated with.
