Update Notes 2.2.0

From Sekaipedia

Welcome to the update notes! Hello this is the "Project SEKAI" development team.

Version 2.2.0, the last major update before the 2nd anniversary, will include minor functional improvements, some balance changes, and UI design adjustments.

Matching against players from the same group during Cheerful Carnival[edit | edit source]

There is an ongoing problem with long matching times during Cheerful Carnival events. Because this problem was caused by the difference in the number of players between the two groups, the matching system has been modified so that after a certain amount of time, you will be able to match with a team from your own group. You will still be able to match with teams from the opposing group.

While you will still earn live rewards, event points, and event badges for completing the live, you will not earn any group points for winning or losing a match against a team from your own group.

Note judgment timing adjustment function[edit | edit source]

In response to numerous requests in our previous "Rhythm Game Questionnaire," we are revising the note judgment timing adjustment feature so that it can be adjusted in increments of ±0.1, in addition to ±1. The "Tap to Adjust" UI has been changed to use live notes and lanes. This allows the adjustment to resemble actual play more closely.

FAST, LATE, and FLICK indicators[edit | edit source]

Similar to above, the FAST, LATE, and FLICK indicator feature was requested in the "Rhythm Game Questionnaire." This feature will display FAST if the note is hit too fast, LATE if the note is hit too late, and FLICK when the direction of the flick note is flicked is in the wrong direction. These indicators will be shown for judgments that are not PERFECT or MISS. This feature is also optional, so it may be turned ON or OFF in the Options menu.

Additional song sort and filtering options[edit | edit source]

As the number of songs have increased, it has been increasingly more difficult to find a specific song. Our first steps to solving this problem are adding the ability to sort songs in alphabetical order and the ability to filter songs that have not yet been ALL PERFECT'd in the song select screen. Another filtering option, favorite songs, is currently being worked on and will be added in another update in the future.

Changes to who can wear accessories[edit | edit source]

Previously, when a costume included both common accessories and unique accessories, some characters were allowed to wear the common accessory and other characters were allowed to wear the unique accessory. Now, characters who are allowed to wear the unique accessory will also be able to wear the common accessory. This will allow for a greater variety of combinations, and will allow all of the characters to wear matching accessories during music videos.

Players who have previously acquired a card with a costume that included both the common and the unique accessory will be compensated with Version 2.2.0. This will not be given through the Present Box, but instead will be unlocked automatically.

Unified live rewards for Free and Veteran Rooms for multiplayer lives[edit | edit source]

Until now, the live rewards in the Free Room and Veteran Room of multiplayer lives were different. (More pieces earned in Free Room and more gems earned in Veteran Room.) However, these rooms were not used for their different live rewards, so the rewards have been unified. From now on, both rooms will use the same rewards as the Veteran Room.

Improvements for "Lesson", "Master Rank", and "Skill up" screens[edit | edit source]

In the training menu, cards that have been maxed out (level, Master Rank, skill level) will now have their thumbnails grayed out, similar to how trained cards have grayed out thumbnails.

Changes to the "original members" setting for 3DMVs[edit | edit source]

Until now, when using the "Play MV with original members" feature when viewing live performances or music videos, each character wore their default costume. The new update will change this behavior so that characters will wear costumes currently set by the player.

3DMVs during certain scenes in the Main Story[edit | edit source]

3DMVs of songs will now play during scenes in the Main Story when they are sung. Hopefully this will provide a more immersive experience.

UI design refresh of the "Live TOP" screen[edit | edit source]

The UI design of some Live TOP screens will be changed, since they were difficult to use. The "Create a Private Room" buttons will now be placed next to each Live button and each Virtual Live banner so players can select which Private Room more easily. During Cheerful Carnival events, the UI design will be changed to display the groups better and will add event-specific effects.

Other additions and adjustments[edit | edit source]

  • Added a button to delete player data on the title screen.
  • Adjusted the input system for the rhythm game.
