Momoi Airi (桃井 愛莉) is a third-year student at Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy. She's part of the idol unit MORE MORE JUMP!

Character Bio

"Airi used to be a TV personality, appearing on many variety shows. She's very confident to the point of coming off as pushy sometimes. Despite being very passionate and invested in her budding idol career, something happened that resulted in her quitting her talent agency."

Background

Airi used to be a popular idol that appeared on many variety shows. However, the constant flow of variety show requests replaced her time as being an idol on stage, causing her to feel as if she was failing her dream of being an idol. This, alongside the idea of being known only for being in variety shows caused her to quit.

Appearance

Airi has pink eyes and long pink hair. She wears part of her hair in short pigtails.

Original

Airi shard a similar outfit to that of the rest of her group members: a white sleeveless blouse with a black ribbon underneath a vest, a black and white ruffled skirt with multiple layers, a loose black belt adorned with the group's three-leaf clover motif, and white heeled shoes. The design of Airi's vest was similar to Shizuku's. Airi's outfit differed the most from her members, in the way that her blouse is cropped above the waist. Additionally, she had the color pink accenting her outfit, a white ruffled arm band on her upper left arm, and white bracelet-like sleeves.

Brand New World

Airi has three outfits as of Brand New World.

Her unit outfit is a typical Japanese idol uniform. It consists of a white sleeveless coat over a white and light blue pleated skirt, with white cuffs, a black belt, and short white boots, and it is almost identical to the other members of MORE MORE JUMP!. Airi's uniform differs the most from the others where her jacket is cropped above her waist. Her uniform has accents of pale pink, and she wears two clover hair clips with a pink leaf.

Her casual outfit consists of a blue sweater tucked into a cream-colored skirt. She wears yellow ribbons in her hair.

Her school outfit is the standard Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy uniform with a cream-coloured cardigan layered on top.

Personality

Airi is strong-minded and comes across as pushy to some. According to Minori, she's strict but reliable. Airi can also be described as a "Tsundere" as heard in the unit song "Newly Edgy Idols" when the background vocals call her a "tsundere girl."

In the More More Jump’s main story, Airi got jealous of Shizuku because of how perfect and beautiful she was and yelled at Shizuku out of jealousy. This led to Shizuku crying, and Airi felt terrible. Airi wanted to be an idol, but her agency only saw her as a TV personality, which made her feel inferior because she “wasn’t good enough to be an idol.”

Relationships

• Hanasato Minori: Fellow group member. Airi is teaching her how to become an idol.
• Kiritani Haruka: Fellow group member. Haruka thinks Airi is undervalued in the idol world.
• Hinomori Shizuku: Fellow group member. Airi is jealous of her talents, but still encourages her. These two are rivals-friends and now work together in More More Jump.
• Shinonome Ena: Have been friends with each other since middle school. They both share a common interest in selfie taking.

Trivia

• Airi's voice actress, Furihata Ai, is also well-known for her work in the Love Live! franchise as the voice of Kurosawa Ruby, who is also an idol.
• Although she is allergic to them, Airi really likes cats. She has a lot of cat-themed stuff in her room.
• Airi has a small fang on her left side.
