Unit area items boost the power of cards associated with the same unit. For example, Ichika's card [[Distant-Looking, but Friendly]], is associated with the unit Leo/need, so both of the Leo/need area items would boost this card's power. For cards of VIRTUAL SINGERs, some have a unit and a support unit. The bonus that the card receives is the greater of the two units. The card [[The Grand Opening]] has both the VIRTUAL SINGER and MORE MORE JUMP! unit associated with it. If the bonus from VIRTUAL SINGER area items totals 1% but the bonus from MORE MORE JUMP! area items totals 5%, the card's power would get boosted by 5%. |

=== VIRTUAL SINGER area items === |
|||
The VIRTUAL SINGERs do not have their own SEKAI, so their area items are spread across the existing SEKAIs. Since there are 5 VIRTUAL SINGER area items as opposed to the other units only having 2, the cost for upgrading each area item is reduced. However, the cost to upgrade all 5 VIRTUAL SINGER area items to the max level costs the same amount of resources as upgrading 2 area items of another unit. Note that each level of VIRTUAL SINGER area items also provide less power bonus compared to the other units. The maximum bonus provided by these items is 5% when all are fully upgraded, 5 area items with 1% bonus each. |

Area items are found in various SEKAIs, Kamiyama High School, and Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy. These area items increase the power of your cards, based on the characters, attribute, units, and support units (if applicable). Having a party with cards of only one attribute will double the power bonus of the associated area items. Similarly, having a party with cards of only one unit will also double the power bonus.
Each SEKAI contains a character item for each character in the unit, a character item for each VIRTUAL SINGER in that unit, 2 unit area items for that unit, and 1 unit area item for VIRTUAL SINGERs. For example, in the Classroom Sekai, there would be character area items for Ichika, Saki, Honami, Shiho, Miku, and Luka, 2 unit area items for Leo/need, and 1 unit area item for VIRTUAL SINGER. Ichika, Saki, Honami, and Shiho are members of Leo/need, and Miku and Luka were starting VIRTUAL SINGERs in Leo/need, for a total of 6 character area items in the Classroom Sekai.
The two schools, Kamiyama High School and Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy both contain attribute area items for each attribute, for a total of 10 attribute area items.
Depending on the type of area item, upgrading it requires coins and a mix of attribute pieces, attribute gems, or mysterious seeds. Once upgraded, the area item will always be active, and its effects cannot be toggled on or off by the player. All area items can be upgraded to level 10. Note that upgrading attribute area items requires Player Rank 25.

Unit area items
Unit area items boost the power of cards associated with the same unit. For example, Ichika's card Distant-Looking, but Friendly, is associated with the unit Leo/need, so both of the Leo/need area items would boost this card's power. For cards of VIRTUAL SINGERs, some have a unit and a support unit. The bonus that the card receives is the greater of the two units. The card The Grand Opening has both the VIRTUAL SINGER and MORE MORE JUMP! unit associated with it. If the bonus from VIRTUAL SINGER area items totals 1% but the bonus from MORE MORE JUMP! area items totals 5%, the card's power would get boosted by 5%.
Upgrading unit area items require coins, attribute pieces, and for higher levels, attribute gems. The maximum level for this type of area items is 10.

Attribute area items
Area items found in Kamiyama High School and Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy, sometimes called plants, increase the power of cards of certain attributes. For example, the cool flower provides a power bonus to cards with the cool attribute. Increasing the levels of these plants will increase the bonus provided. The levels can be increased by using mysterious seeds and coins.
